The International Fact-Checking Network (IFCN) is a forum for fact-checkers worldwide hosted by The Poynter Institute. Media executives, journalists and educators are turning to the IFCN to keep current with the ever-evolving fact-checking landscape. We are looking to hire a high-energy program manager to handle the day-to-day management of the network in collaboration with the Director.
They will plan, execute and evaluate major programs, including the applications for our code of principles, fact-checker fellowships, an innovation grant, the International Fact-Checking Day, and more. Additional responsibilities include developing relations with technology and social media platforms, promoting best practices by preparing training materials for fact-checkers, managing a Slack team for fact-checkers from around the world, facilitating collaboration in person and online among fact-checkers all over the world and creating marketing strategies.
The selected candidate will also co-organize Global Fact, the premier annual international gathering of fact-checkers.
Ideal candidates will possess a strong understanding of international fact-checking, verification and debunking with direct experience in an international fact-checking organization. They will be fluent in English and either French, Spanish or Portuguese.
Previous experience running large events, grant writing or managing programs with international ramifications is essential, as well as having experience in working with designers and developers to turn ideas to products. We expect to hire a candidate with at least 3-5 years of previous work experience and a college degree.
