U.S. News & World Report is looking for a senior Enterprise Content Management System Developer to join our growing developer team building data-driven products for one of the globe’s most trusted brands.

Enhancing and maintaining our custom enterprise content management system, built on Brightspot CMS by Perfect Sense Digital, that allows a large distributed team of writer and editors to publish content daily.
Working with editors, web producers, graphic artists, and programmers to create innovative online features and interactive tools.
Applicants will be required to provide code demonstrating a clear separation of content, presentation, and behavior.
Required skills and experience for this position:
Experience developing for enterprise content management platforms such as Brightspot, Drupal, Crafter CMS, Adobe, CQ5/AEM, or Sitecore.
Strong problem solving & communication skills.
Experience with relational databases such as PostgreSQL, Oracle or MySQL.
Experience with object oriented languages such as Java, C#, Python or Ruby.
Experience working with Unix-based operating systems, such as Linux or Mac OS X, along with the shells and command-line tools available in those environments.
Strongly preferred but not required:
Experience with responsive web development.
Experience with Java web stack tools such as Tomcat, Apache Solr and Maven is a plus.
Experience with developing using web application frameworks such as Pyramid, Ruby on Rails, or Django.
Experience developing against and/or creating JSON based APIs.
Version control/source control systems such as Git.
This is a full-time, regular position. Work will be done onsite at our offices in the Georgetown area of Washington, DC. Developers can choose their preferred hardware including Windows, Linux, and Mac OS X machine. Infrequent night and weekend work may be required.
