The Standard-Examiner in Ogden, Utah, is hiring a print administrator.
While our central design center in Bozeman, Montana, may be designing and building the Standard, you’re responsible for making sure it’s a timely, complete and compelling newspaper.
That requires understanding the content that’s available and effectively communicating the kind of paper you want each day — a newspaper that connects with its community through investigative journalism, exceptional storytelling, and meaningful engagement.
Journalism degree, or study in a related field. Experience in a professional newsroom. Demonstrated copy editing, proofreading ability. An understanding of effective print newspaper design. Exceptional news judgment. Strong computer literacy.
Create daily print newspaper budget.
Assign content to appropriate sections/pages.
Participate in daily budget discussions with central design center.
Prepare content for publication by editing copy, writing headlines and captions.
Monitor page flow from central design center.
Proof pages submitted by CDC, make corrections as necessary.
Send completed pages to press.
Monitor breaking news, communicate extraordinary deadline requirements to CDC.
The Standard-Examiner is a daily newspaper serving the Wasatch Front of Northern Utah. Our circulation is about 30K daily and 33K Sunday. We’re the flagship paper of the Sandusky Newspaper Group.
