Phillips Media Group is seeking a highly competent designer and manager to lead a centralized team of graphic artists who produce pages, advertising and assorted collateral for a number of daily and weekly newspapers.
The successful candidate must possess a mastery of Adobe InDesign and Photoshop, and be capable of producing high-quality work at an efficient pace while ensuring the team as a whole does the same.
This role involves coordinating multiple projects simultaneously while addressing the needs of a variety of stakeholders both within and outside the department, so excellent communication skills are a necessity.
The ideal applicant will be comfortable with the rapidly evolving state of the newspaper industry and should be prepared to continually improve, recommend and execute best practices based on the needs of both the department and the company as a whole.
Prior experience evaluating and partnering with third party vendors is a plus, as is the knowledge and ability to assist our technical staff with troubleshooting errors in the production process.
We anticipate a great deal of future growth for this department and need a leader who can make that happen while still fulfilling the responsibilities that have historically been entrusted to our team.
