WAMU is searching for a dynamic, multiplatform reporter responsible for covering transportation in the Washington region. They should be adept at filing short-form spots for our newscasts as well as longer-form features. Maintaining sources and analyzing issues (and possible solutions) facing transportation in the region is a must. The Transportation Reporter should also be adept on social media, interacting with followers and maintaining an active presence online.
The ideal candidate is an effective and imaginative storyteller with a keen sense of how to shape content to suit different audiences--both on air (via local newscasts, live two-ways, feature stories, etc.) and online (via WAMU.org and social media platforms). While the reporter will regularly contribute on-air spot and feature stories, they should have a well-developed sense of how to create digital content that is compelling, sharable, visual, and impactful.
