Reporting to the Afternoon Editor, the News Host is KUOW’s primary voice of local news during drive times and is tasked with relaying timely and relevant local news content to our largest audiences.

Bachelor's degree and five years of professional broadcast experience, preferably with a background in news and public affairs and on-air hosting. Equivalent combination of education and experience may substitute for stated requirements.
Demonstrated news judgment and ability to prioritize coverage. Must have demonstrated experience in editorial decision-making in breaking news situations.
Professional on-air presence; must be able to deliver news and regular updates with authority in addition to regular, personable host updates.
Knowledge of professional broadcast and journalistic standards and practices and a working knowledge of current issues.
Ability to work under deadline in team-oriented environment.
Desired: Experience in public radio
